Hi, I haven't been able to find a clear answer to this issue yet, so I'm posting here for help. I have just created a profile on the site Instructables - http://www.instructables.com/ as well as an article. The issue is that I could find most of the published articles there have follow links in them - e.g links under materials: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-a-Reclaimed-Industrial-Coffee-Table/ - however mine is attributed nofollow links. I simply don't know why this is or if there is a way around it to get the links followed. This question only relates to the links in the articles, not the profile links - which are followed. Anybody knows? Thanks, Alex

I had a site that was ranking for hundreds of keywords, I got hit with a link penalty, got the link penalty removed by creating disavow file, reconsideration request. Last couple of months my site is stuck on page 2 and won't seem to move up. Thoughts?

Hey Moz friends, Need some advise of yours. Trying to add new products and content to my website regularly(nowadays a bit more) to be able to have more internal links and attact the visiters. Figured out most websites dont use nofollow internal links. Are we doing something wrong? this internal nofollow links are affecting the anchor text i assume. Any advantage to make that links follow? In the setting of a news site, with articles that often link to one or more outside sources, is it a good idea to rel="nofollow" all external links?  Would this hurt link-building prospects? Of course, internal links would keep on passing link juice back and forth, but is there real harm in following external links? These would be links our writers and editors created themselves to reputable sources, blogs, etc.

Hello folks, I have a problem with optimizing a page for 2 different keywords. Here is the situation: On-page: Both keywords in title; both words in body text (I didn't count them but approximately 3-4 times for 100 words in total) Off-page: Exact anchor text from article directories, Synonym & Brand anchors from directories. My link building shcedule is as inconsistent as possible. I just keep around 50 links per week. I do social sharing, guest blogging with exact/synonym anchor text links and also I link to other pages across the whole site. I try to avoid site bar and footer links although I have some because it's partner links, I didn't buy them. I even asked web masters to put nofollow tag to those link after the drop because I was concerned that Penguin considers them bought links. The result: 1st keyword is going quite well, it reached 5th postion but after that dropped to the second page, which more or less I can explain with various factors such as overal keyword competition, maybe penguin thought that some links are spammy. The problem is that the second keyword is disaster. I found it in SERP after 1 month hard work on 17th page and now it is swinging between 14th and 17th page. Honestly, I am confused. Is it possible that link building with 2 keywords to the same page creates self canibalization of some kind? Just to remind that the 2 keywords are quite different, i,e. there are not related as synonyms or similar. Do you guys have had similar problem? Thanks in advance for your advice

Now, here's a scenario: I've been anchortext linkbuilding (with success, wuhuuu!!) for a client through a couple of months and I've aggregated quite a few links from a series of 'solid' forums. The majority (we are 99!) of links are build using the signature in my posts and comments. Now my client has shifted focus from this specific linkbuilding task and I have another client awaiting to "take the place in my signature". How do I ensure that historical posts from client #1 stays unaltered, while new comments have client #2 in my signature? A few after thoughts: Are there any automated ways to monitor the above mentioned scenario? What are the chances of getting penalized from the forum, loosing historical comments (links) Tally ho! ;o)

When syndicating content, I have heard/read that even if the piece you syndicate has a link back to your site (original post), the engines should be able to tell your post is the original because of the link that is pointing back. Is this the case when the links are "nofollow"? I think not, but I just would like to get someone else point of view. I think that if they don't want to follow the links, they should at least add noindex meta robots tags to the post so it doesn't create duplicate content... Any thoughts? Thanks!
